First, the role of the harness needle

1. Connection

Wiring harness pins are mainly used to connect different wires or cables to achieve circuit conduction. In various electronic devices, automobiles, aerospace and other fields, wires and cables need to be connected in a reliable way to transmit power, signals and data. Wiring harness pins provide a convenient and efficient connection method to ensure the stable operation of circuits.

For example, in automotive wiring harnesses, harness pins connect the wires of various sensors, controllers and actuators together to achieve the normal operation of automotive electronic systems.

2. Fixing role

Harness pins can fix the wires or cables in a specific position, preventing the wires from loosening, shifting or being damaged by external pulling forces during use. By inserting the wire into the socket of the harness pin, and then using the crimping tool to press the harness pin tightly, the wire can be firmly fixed in place.

In some of the more vibration equipment, such as industrial machinery, aerospace equipment, etc., the fixed role of the harness pin is particularly important to ensure that the wire in the harsh operating environment to maintain a stable connection.

3. Protection

Harness pins are usually made of insulating material, which can play a certain role in insulation protection. It can prevent short-circuit and leakage between the wires, and improve the safety of the circuit. In addition, the harness pin can also protect the insulation layer of the wire from damage, prolonging the service life of the wire.

In some wet, corrosive or high-temperature environment, the insulation protection of the harness needle can effectively prevent the wire from being affected by the external environment and failure.

Second, the principle of the harness needle

1. Mechanical connection principle

Harness pins are usually designed with jacks and pins. Pin part is usually made of metal materials, has good electrical conductivity. Jack part is made of insulating material, internal spring or elastic sheet structure, used to clamp the pin.

When the pin is inserted into the socket, the spring or elastic sheet will generate a certain pressure, the pin will be tightly fixed in the socket, to achieve mechanical connection. This connection has good stability and reliability, and can withstand certain tension and vibration.

2. Electrical connection principle

The electrical connection of the harness pin mainly relies on the metal contact between the pin and the jack. The surfaces of the pins and jacks are usually specially treated, such as gold-plated, silver-plated, etc., to improve conductivity and oxidation resistance.

When the pin is inserted into the jack, the metal surface between the pin and the jack is in close contact, forming a good electrical connection. Current can be smoothly transmitted through the metal contact point between the pin and the jack to achieve the conduction of the circuit.

3. Insulation Principle

The insulating part of the wiring harness pin is usually made of insulating materials such as plastic and rubber. These insulating materials have good insulating properties to prevent short-circuiting and leakage between wires.

The selection of insulating materials is usually based on the requirements of the application environment. For example, in high-temperature environments, insulating materials with high temperature resistance need to be selected; in humid environments, insulating materials with good waterproof performance need to be selected.
